A Bonneville County man has been booked for domestic battery after he stabbed a woman and caused serious injuries. The incident occurred at an address on the Nassau Drive in Bonneville County. It was reported to the authorities at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 7.
According to the details shared by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, reports were first received of a domestic incident of violence. The reports stated that a woman had been stabbed by a Bonneville County man and was bleeding.
As the deputies arrived on the scene of the incident, they were able to gather vital details from several eyewitnesses. The witness accounts confirmed that a man identified as Anibel N. Lazo-Lopez, 42, had inflicted wounds on his wife. After wounding the woman, Lazo-Lopez then fled towards the residence of the couple which was located on the Wilson Drive.
The deputies then started a search for the suspect and were able to locate him close to his residence. According to the deputies, they were also able to recover the knife used in stabbing on the lawn of the residence.
Once taken into custody, Lazo-Lopez confirmed that he had stabbed his wife. As per Lazo-Lopez, he had an argument with his wife and he had accused her of cheating on him. This ultimately led him to stab her. Police investigations also confirm that all the parties involved in the incident were consuming alcohol and very likely under the influence when the stabbing incident occurred.
The victim of the stabbing incident was transported to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for treatment. Lazo-Lopez was also taken to the same medical facility for a medical check-up before he was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
