21-Year Old Man Arrested for Child Enticement in Boise, Idaho

|

It is against the law in Idaho for anyone over the age of 18 to have sexual relations with a minor. This includes any sort of sexual contact online. With so many apps today on social media, there are more people being charged with a host of sexual offenses in Idaho.

This was certainly the case for 21-year old Kammiron Hicks from Nampa, Idaho. He had been talking to a young girl on a social media site for weeks. He had exchanged sexual materials with the minor girl who the police stated was under the age of 15.

Hicks somehow arranged to meet the young girl at an undisclosed location in Boise this past week. The police were waiting in the parking lot when the suspect arrived. With the Boise Police were members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

Hicks was arrested and booked into the Ada County jail on two charges. First, he was charged with felony enticement of a child. He intentionally used the internet to arrange to meet with a child for sexual purposes. He was also charged with misdemeanor of giving a child harmful material. The police did not indicate what sort of materials he had provided to the victim.

While the police did not come right out and say it, it appears that the two met and communicated on the popular site TikTok. However, the authorities warn parents that any of the social media sites and applications can be used to lure their children online.

The Nampa man is being held in the jail at the moment. If convicted, he would be facing several years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender in Idaho.
